Why you cannot get to Daikoku PA on your own
Daikoku PA (大黒パーキングエリア) sits on a man-made island under the Bayshore Route of the Shuto Expressway in Yokohama. There is no train station, no bus stop and no pedestrian entrance — it is only reachable by car from the expressway. Taxis rarely agree to go because the driver must pay tolls both ways and wait. This is why almost every visitor who is not a car owner arrives with a tour.

Most Daikoku tours quote a price per car (typically ¥60,000–66,000 for up to three people, with a 10% weekend markup). STUTUTU CLUB TOKYO quotes per person and charges the same on Saturday as on Tuesday.

For a couple, ¥25,000 × 2 = ¥50,000 in a Silvia is cheaper than any per-car competitor. For a solo traveller the difference is larger still. Children under 6 ride free.
Is Daikoku PA open tonight?
Usually, but not always. Kanagawa police close the parking area to enthusiasts several times a year — most often on long weekends, after viral events, and when crowds spill into the lanes. We keep a public record of every closure we have witnessed on the Daikoku PA Closures page, and our Field Notes page lists 50+ GPS-logged visits with the busiest days and hours. If Daikoku is shut on your night, we reroute to Tatsumi PA or Umihotaru and you still get your three hours.

What if Daikoku PA is closed that night?
